For those of us who came across collections of decorated spoons while on our numerous walks within our 5km zone during lockdown, these charming decorated spoons have certainly put a smile on our faces and encouraged us to go home and try our hands at this craft.
Back at school, the infants and the Primary Diverse Learning teams have been working with students on activities designed to promote conversation and collaboration as a tool to ease back into the school routine. Some of our students added to the ‘Spoongara’ family by personalising wooden spoons.
The idea of 'Spoongara' was adapted from 'Spoonville' that originated in England as a means to cheer up the local community during Covid 19 and has made it's way to Australia and other parts of the world.
There are angels, fairies, princesses, superheroes and even school spoons dressed in Tangara school uniform! How clever and creative are our families! It is pleasing to see how much joy they are bringing to the boys and girls as they visit our “Spoongara” display under the beautiful Golden Robinia tree.
Let the remainder of Term 4 and 2021 be a term where we continue to look for ways to think of others, show kindness, spread goodwill and “spark joy”.
