A very warm welcome to our returning families and to all our new families in 2024. The Infants team is looking forward to meeting you and working together to ensure the best outcomes for your children. The beginning of the school year holds great promise and excitement for all at Tangara Infants and we are anticipating an exciting, adventure-filled, and educational year.

This week, our Prep children experienced the first week of their school life. There were smiles and wonder all around. I was fortunate to have had lunch on Friday with our Prep children, who treated me to tea and delicious sand cake in our play kitchen.

It was great to see our Prep children settling in so well, jumping straight into their new environment with smiles and lots of imaginative play.

Our Year 1 children returned to school with smiles, laughter, and a skip in their step. They reconnected excitedly with old friends and were eager to make new friends. At our morning assembly we emphasised the importance of the Year 1 children taking on their new role as 2024 Infant leaders.

There is nothing like the beginning of a new school year.

The anticipation builds as the teachers work through the holidays and prepare their classrooms and programs and then the big day arrives! The playground and classrooms come alive when the children return. Our school looks beautiful after it’s holiday clean and I am pleased to say there has been positivity, laughter and lots of chatter all week.

Over the break we have been working on a special display in our Namoi Building outlining the values of our Junior School and what it means to be a Tangara Girl. A huge thank you to Mrs Benson, our Sports Administrator, for designing such beautiful artwork.

Charity and care for others is so important and we continually try to instill this virtue in our students. I know all parents partner with us in this.

A warm welcome to all of our Tangara Secondary families in 2024. A very special welcome goes to our Year 7's, new students, parents and staff members who have joined our school this year. It was wonderful to see the Secondary School buzzing again on Wednesday morning, as the girls returned from the holidays in high spirits with beaming smiles and embracing their friends, as they eagerly went from room to room to see where their new homerooms were located and which class they had been placed in!

During our first Secondary Assembly for the year, we spoke with the girls about the importance of "Raising the Bar '' this year, which is the Class of 2024's motto. We will be encouraging our girls to set high expectations in all aspects of school life for example, work ethic, behaviour, punctuality and presentation, just to name a few. We are also encouraging the girls to make the most of the opportunities available to them here at Tangara by increasing their participation in co-curricular activities, whether it may be in Sport, Community Service, Music, Public Speaking, Creative or Performing Arts.

My name is Natalya Rajakariarand I’m your School Captain for 2024!

For those who don’t know me, I’ve been familiar with Tangara for a long time. For over 25 years my mum has embarked on her drop-off and pickup trips to Tangara every day. One day in 2006, she hopped into her van to pick up her 6 daughters from school. Surprisingly, whilst on these very school grounds she went into labour with her 9th child. Fast forward 17 years and that child is now writing to you, part of a school she considers her second home. So I guess you could say Tangara has been there for me, literally, from the very beginning.
