Our Prep, Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 students recently took part in National Simultaneous Storytime 2026, joining thousands of children across Australia in celebrating the joy of reading together.
This year’s featured book,
Luna Roo
, delighted students with its uplifting storyline and memorable characters. The story follows Luna Roo, a determined and optimistic character who faces challenges with courage and positivity. Along her journey, Luna Roo learns the importance of believing in herself, working together with others, and never giving up. The story shares a powerful message about resilience, teamwork, and learning from mistakes to grow and succeed.
After listening to the story, students eagerly shared their thoughts about what they loved most:
“I liked how Luna Roo believed in herself and kept trying, even when things were hard.”
“Even when other people said bad things about her, it didn’t stop her.”
“I liked how she learned from her mistakes to improve.”
“My favourite part was the teamwork and how everyone helped each other.”
“I loved how Luna Roo stayed happy and didn’t give up.”
“The ‘GOOOOAL!’ part was so fun!”
It was wonderful to see our students so engaged, confidently sharing their ideas and reflecting on the positive messages from the story.
